Covid-19 Policy and Guidelines

• The event will only operate if the Hawke’s Bay Region is at Alert Level 1 on event day.

• All participants and volunteers must undergo a self-assessment for any Covid-19- symptoms. No-one should attend Triple Peaks if they, or someone they live with, has any of the following: A high temperature (above 37.8°C), a new continuous cough, a loss of or change to, their sense of smell or taste. This check should be done prior to attending. Should an individual have demonstrated any such symptoms, they must not participate or volunteer, and should follow relevant guidelines issued by the MOH.

• Anyone who has already been instructed to self-isolate by a health care practitioner should continue to follow this advice and may not participate or volunteer.


Event Registration

Event registration is held outside the Havelock North Village Green Pavilion. This is a large space that allows plenty of space for physical distancing.

• Contract tracing posters and QR codes displayed at the entrance points

• Social distancing posters displayed at the door

• Hand sanitizer at the registration tables

• Masks and gloves are available for staff/volunteers

• Only volunteers are allowed into the Pavilion building

• Each distance will register at a different table, and the tables are spaced apart.


At the Event

Race HQ 

• Contract tracing posters and QR codes displayed

• Social distancing posters displayed

• Hand sanitizer available around the venue and at Transition

Crew and Volunteers 

• All crew and volunteers must be at all times symptom free

• Masks and gloves are available for staff/volunteers

Aid Stations

• Hand sanitizer available for competitors and volunteers

• Masks and gloves available for volunteers

• There are no cups on the aid stations

• Participants are encouraged to carry sufficient fluid to minimize the need to use the aid stations

Athletes

• Please do not turn up if you are are unwell

• DO NOT swap, sell or trade your entry with anyone else, without notifying event management.

• Login with the COVID19 QR Code on arrival at the event village

• Practice physical distancing

• DO NOT spit or blow your nose while on the course as there may be other competitors around you


Pre Race

• Race briefing will be kept as brief as possible, with most information having been distributed electronically and via the race pack

• There will be separate waves to keep group size to a minimum

• Participants are asked to seed themselves appropriately with faster runners to the front, to minimize the amount of passing required

• Participants are asked to be mindful of allowing room to pass


After the Event

• The finish line area is wide and open to prevent congregation

• Participants are encouraged to move away from the finish line

• Prize giving is in an outdoor space that allows maximum space for physical distancing


** NOTE that event management will closely monitor national Alert Levels, leading up to MCL Construction Triple Peaks.  If we are confident that the event will take place during level 1, we will proceed as per the above conditions.  If the government impose level 2, 3 or 4, the event will NOT take place and all participants will be reimbursed their entry fee LESS $20 per person which will go towards unavoidable expenses and a small donation to Te Mata Park.  We thank you for your understanding.
