Keen to Volunteer?

With only 3 weeks to go until MCL Construction TRIPLE PEAKS on 7th March, organisers are on the lookout for more volunteers to assist on the course with marshalling.

''Whilst we do already have a wonderful team of capable volunteers assisting us on the day, we are very keen to welcome another 15 - 20 people to our group of helpers, and invite individuals from our local community to make contact if you are able to help. All volunteers receive a goodie bag and are invited along to a Thank You Function at the Loading Ramp following the event. It will be lots of fun on the day too,'' comments Richard Mills, Event Co-Director.

Competitors can run, walk or mountain bike the 55 kms course, either solo or in a team of 3 people.  ‘’We also have introduced the One Peak Explorer option which is only 18 kms and perfect for those looking for a less challenging option.  The new Two Peak Walk option has also proved to be extremely popular this year,’’ adds Emma Buttle, who also is a Director of the event.

Being a fundraiser for Te Mata Park, organisers Mr Mills and Ms Buttle are hoping to raise enough funds to buy 1000 native trees for Te Mata Park. "With entry numbers going so well, we really hope to exceed this, and be able to add a healthy contribution to the fundraising,'' comments Ms. Buttle.

Organisers are promising a truck load of spot prizes from local businesses and supporters. ''Our Sponsor Family have been incredible with their support - really going beyond the call of duty. They know how important MCL Triple Peaks is to our community, it really is an iconic event in Hawke's Bay.''

''There will be entertainment on the course, including a DJ and singer at the top of Mt. Kahuranaki, and the incredibly motivating group Bay Batacuda at the transition. Plus a few surprises along the way. Plenty will also be happening at the finish line for the whole family,'' adds Ms. Buttle.

''All Finishers will receive a medal, including those people in a team, and we are pleased to be able to offer complimentary refreshments both at the Aid Stations and Finish line, for all competitors, thanks to New World Havelock North, Giant Brewing, Hammer Nutrition and Turners & Growers.''

''For anyone who is keen to volunteer on the day, Saturday 7 March, we ask that you please contact us on [email protected]. All help gratefully received.''
